Sustainability.

At The Ritual Works we are growing to better the future. Sustainability has been our driving force from day one and we take an active role to reduce our carbon footprint during every stage of production by actively investing into greener alternatives. This includes our plant and machinery such as AMADA press-brake.

We request sustainability statements from every supplier and take this into account as we select our materials, consumables and equipment. For each process that doesn’t yet have a greener alternative we compensate with an environmental charge which goes towards funding research for a sustainable option.

Metal is an infinitely recyclable material and every conventional type of metal is widely recycled. There are also impressive breakthroughs in making production of metal materials carbon neutral with the invention of ‘green steel’ which uses hydrogen instead of coal. We aim to switch to this type of steel as soon as it’s going to start being available in Scotland. Our current production process involves recycling unused metal in the nearest recycling centre. Additionally, we recycle 80% of all the packaging by mostly reusing it, including plastic, paper, cardboard and wood. We use the purest welding gases to eliminate toxins and request our suppliers to refill existing bottles. We dispose of any harmful substances such as oils and other waste in a responsible manner at the specialised facilities.

Our environmental awareness is informed through active research into new practices, developments and industry standards and a completion of supporting course on Sustainable Development from the University of Edinburgh by a managing director.
