This project centred on the stainless steel fabrication and installation of key elements within a specialist school hydrotherapy pool — a space where durability, hygiene and everyday use had to be considered together.
Working within the existing pool structure, our scope included formed stainless steel sections, TIG-welded details, drainage areas and access points. The work had to respond closely to the site: curves, services, lighting and existing conditions all shaped how the final details were resolved.
Rigidised stainless steel was selected for its strength, cleanability and suitability in a wet pool environment. The focus was not only on the material itself, but on how it was detailed — clean junctions, considered edges, accessible drainage and surfaces that could be maintained over time.
A significant part of this project was resolved on site. Working within the existing hydrotherapy pool structure meant the stainless steel fabrication had to respond to real conditions rather than drawings alone — curves, falls, services, lighting, access points and existing construction all shaped the final detail.
The on-site TIG welding and installation required careful sequencing, clean workmanship and close attention to the surrounding environment. Each section had to be fitted, adjusted and finished in place, with junctions considered not only for appearance, but for hygiene, durability, drainage and long-term maintenance.
The relevant welds were NDT tested following fabrication, providing additional assurance that the stainless steel pool works had been completed to the required standard.
Technically, it was a demanding hydrotherapy pool stainless steel fabrication project. More importantly, it was work made for a space with a clear purpose: supporting children through movement, therapy and daily care.
